The Titans plan to discuss a new contract with defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosch this weekend, according to a league source. Tennessee has a bye this weekend and has been in constant contact with Vanden Bosch, who can become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season.

Free agent running back Ahman Green has reportedly been telling his ex-teammates that he's agreed to a deal with the Packers. Green visited with Green Bay on Monday. "Tidbit on Ahman Green that isn't out there yet: he has told ex-teammates it's done, he has a playbook and was at Lambeau today studying up," Greg A. Bedard of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel wrote on his Twitter page.

Clinton Portis had a verbal altercation with fullback Mike Sellers this week at a Washington practice. The teammates had to be physically separated. Portis hasn't produced as well as he has in the past during the first four weeks of the 2009 season. According to a source, $6.43 million of his $7.195 million base salary for 2010 is guaranteed.

The Bears could be in the market for a running back heading into their bye this weekend. Adrian Peterson is expected to miss two to three weeks with a strained MCL in his right knee, and Kevin Jones has been lost for the season with an ankle injury. Chicago has Matt Forte, Garrett Wolfe and practice-squad member Kahlil Bell available. "It would be hard to go into a game with two running backs on our roster," coach Lovie Smith told the Chicago Tribune. "I'm hoping that we won't get to that point. If we get to that point, you always keep your options open. "We have different options at every position right now, so we should be OK."

The Patriots are expected to sign veteran linebacker Junior Seau as early as Monday, according to a league source. Seau, a 19-year veteran, visited New England last week and the two sides laid the groundwork for a deal to be completed this week.
